Nicola, founder of BuggyBootcamp and instructor in Waterbeach, Cambs
Over the past 11 years, Nicola has formulated a proven programme that is suitable and effective for all levels of postnatal and prenatal exercisers.
She is a mum of four, two boys and two girls, with the youngest, Bodhi being born in May 2014. Nicola created the programme for BuggyBootcamp after the birth of her first baby boy when she found continuing her pre- pregnancy workout schedule was nearly impossible. She soon realized that there were many other mummies who needed the same; a structured workout programme for each stage of the process; from 6 weeks postpartum beginners to training for 5K races, 10K and beyond!
Nicola is an accomplished triathlete and Cambridge University netball player and, as well as her training, knows from personal experience how pregnancy and childbirth can affect the body and its responses to exercise. She completed Oceanside Ironman 70.3 six weeks into her first pregnancy and has continued to compete in both the US and the UK postnatally, most recently completing the Outlaw ironman distance in Nottingham, UK.
Additionally, during her 7 years as a secondary school English and PE teacher in both the US and the UK, Nicola coached netball, girls football, and volleyball. These years of coaching and postnatal training constitute a broad experience in physical education which she now shares with both her clients and other BuggyBootcamp instructors. She continues to attend fitness courses and seminars to keep up to date with the latest trends, which you will see incorporated into her varied lesson plans.
